Knowing and defining our purpose is fundamental to our team. So our team forged our Here for Good purpose. These are the seven pillars that underpin what we are striving to achieve. While this naturally starts with animals and our people, it then expands to encompass sustainability of local businesses, our communities and overall a better NZ Inc.

Our Model
Better together
Our model is pretty simple. We love the rural communities we are in and to provide them with the best we are quite simply better together. We are a national group of locally owned & operated clinics collectively focused on delivering better rural veterinary services.
From our far corners of NZ, our cooperation gives us access to veterinarians, technical programmes, technology, products, research and advice that are the envy of others. This means we continue to grow profitability, attract and retain a crew of talented vets, and always focus on the needs of the clients in our rural communities.
We remain true to ourselves with animal health and welfare being paramount, and through local practicing leaders and tight knit teams autonomy and decision-making remains at the clinic level.
Our support services simply provide leverage to keep our vets doing what they love, solving the problems presented through companion, competitive and production animals.
Our operational model means we do things differently, like our approach of empowering vet technicians and farm services support to make things easier for our clients and vets.
We embrace data and technology so we can provide our clients with a better understanding of their animal health journey, and our teams can benefit from the efficiency and accessibility that technology provides.
Our Communities
The origins of VetNZ is centred on the provision of better veterinary services in our rural communities. Central to this, is our ability to contribute to thriving rural communities and a better NZ Inc.
Employing over 220 people across New Zealand, adding to population and vibrancy of rural communities.
Supporting over 200 small to medium businesses through our consumption of local products and services.
Providing veterinary services to over 10,000 clients nationally, and operating 24 hour, 7 days a week for whatever emergencies might face them.
Operating 16 sites in Morrinsville, Ikamatua, Greymouth, Hokitika, Dunedin, Lumsden, Balclutha, Clydevale, Tapanui, Gore, Winton, Otautau, Darfield, Dunsandel and two in Invercargill.
Partnering with local animal welfare, adoption and rescue organisations including the SPCA, West Coast Wildlife Centre and Furever Homes.
Sponsoring charities, schools, sports teams, special projects and individuals within these rural communities - focused on many and often actions to reach the most we can within the places we live.
Fostering the veterinary sector with education scholarships, internships, work experience and ongoing career professional development.
Our investments
VetNZ strategically invests in supply chain & best practice so our partner clinics lead the way with the best services and products when our clients need them. Being in rural locations shouldn't diminish the ability to get the best quickly and efficiently at a competitive price.
